The Break of Dawn – Chasing a Frazier Revolutionary War Ancestor

More often than not, parents naming children are either creatively challenged or extremely focused on passing down legacies. Both situations greatly impact ancestry research and the Frazier family line did not break free of those constraints, at least where John Fraser was concerned. Twenty-five years ago, I began a sporadic quest to discover more about my family ancestry realizing such an endeavor would be rather difficult due to family roots anchored in the deep south of North America. That quest has led me to an interesting connection with factual Scottish heritage as well as a fictional Scottish story recently made popular as a television series. In celebration of our America250 milestone anniversary marking national independence, this article will share a journey that’s helped me embrace the break of dawn shedding of light on my ancestorial connection to John Fraser, which in turn allows me to honor American patriotism as a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution organization otherwise known as the DAR.
